The doughnuts (sufganiyot) are a celebration of the oil that lasted for 8 nights when it should only have lasted for 1. Same reason we eat latkes! Fried everything for dayssss.

Please look into intuitive eating and get an intuitive eating workbook! Getting back in touch with hunger cues is the first step to freeing yourself of the diet mentality, but it’s really hard to NOT think about your weight when you’re weighing yourself. It’s also hard not to judge yourself when you’re constantly judging the food going into your body. Food is not good or bad, it’s neutral. The good/bad comes in how it makes your body feel and that’s different for everyone.

I’ve been overweight my entire life! A year ago I started looking into bariatric surgery for me after I was doing great with working out but ended up rupturing a disc and having 2 back surgeries! When I was working with the doctors I never had a “goal weight” in mind, what I wanted was to be a healthy BMI. Maybe focus less on the number on the scale and more of just being in a healthy BMI class? That is still what I tell people when they ask how much I have lost and what my goal is. Just to be at a healthy BMI for my height and age.
