Hi Laimewads, we wanted to introduce you to our newest family member, Ramona!
As you might know, we’ve been sad after losing Hurricane and wanted to bring some new cat energy into the house. So, on Black Friday we went and adopted a Black Cat! As you can see, she’s already made herself comfortable at the foot of our podcasting table, jumbled cords and all.
Ramona is a three year old former mama, and she’s been in the shelter system since July. She’s strikingly beautiful, is mellow and is a total lovebug. (One of her kittens is still available for adoption at Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles – his name is Maine and his number is 16893322 – go adopt him!)
Ruby is getting used to having her around, there’s been lots of sniffing and tentative tail-wags… we have no doubt that they’ll be best friends in no time!
Hi Guys! Ruby here, wanting to tell you about one of my amazing fur friends who is stuck in a shelter but needs to have a warm bed, a loving family and lots of walks, treats and tail wags, just like me!
Meet Jersey! She is at the North Central Shelter here in Los Angeles. You can tell from her vid that she is soooo sweet and awesome. I just know we’d be BFF’s.
She’s 2 years old, weighs 63 pounds, and has been at the shelter for waaaay too long!
Please spread the word and let’s get this girl out! Her ID number is: A1350993. You can call the shelter or better yet, just get your tail over there and bust her out!

It would make me happier than anything in the world. Well, except for maybe an entire bacon cheeseburger. Those would be equal happiness makers. A bitch has got priorities, people.
Please tweet, retweet, facebook, email, and all those other things you humans are doing all the time!
Today, I am diving into a re-write of the pilot I’ve been working on for months. It’s a pretty major overhaul, and it’s always hard for me to start anew on something I’ve already started anew and finished multiple times before. It’s always tempting to just toss it out and start something else fresh instead of going back to yet another rewrite, but I know and love the characters in this pilot so much that I’m determined to make this work.
So. Because today is the day and it is 11:45 AM and I was supposed to start writing at 9:30, this is what I’ve actually done today:
1. Cuddled my dog.
2. Made an appointment to get my hairs cut.
3. Took pictures of my dog.
4. Watched three episodes of Sex And The City.
5. Dusted off my neti-pot and neti-potted my noser.
6. Treated a stained sweater with stain removal.
7. Looked at real estate online I will never be able to afford if I don’t actually ever write anything.
8. Clipped my nails.
9. Wrote this blog post.
The one constant that has carried me through all of these activities has been me feeling guilty about not writing. Which I hate. And yet, I have never once in my life, not ever once! actually sat down to write the thing at the exact time in the exact way that I’d planned…
So. I think it’s time to give myself a break. I know this will get written. This slow entry is just part of the process and the beating myself up about it doesn’t serve me. And, on the upside, if it weren’t for “writing” I would probably never ever neti pot or stain remove or nail clip or hair appointment make.
Now. It’s time to write… After just one more episode of Sex & The City.
(Please let me know how you procrastinate in the comments!)
Laimewads, you rule. We are continually inspired by you all, you are creative and clever and supportive and lovely and hilarious. Thank you so much for being your awesome selves and listening to us fuck around with a cool guest once a week.
Here is our official 2011 Holiday card:
As promised, here is the epic holiday song we created solely for our loyal Laimewads who left iTunes feedback – the song is 10 minutes long, so please check in the comments to this post for a list of all the names in the order they are in the song so you can guesstimate where yours lands. Also, there are a few names we mispronounced, for that I’m terribly sorry – we be not good at reading – but the sentiment is the same!
Big News! After competing in The Earwolf Challenge against some fierce competitors over the last ten weeks, it was announced Wednesday that we are the winners! Which makes us the Kelly Clarkson of podcast competitions which is just about the highest compliment you could pay us. As our prize, we will be joining the ranks over on the Earwolf network, but rest assured nothing will change about our little show.
Thank you for all the support throughout the competition – As a token of our appreciation, we give you the above picture, inspired by THIS, written by Laimewad Andrew Richey in response to week 8 of the challenge (might not be as funny if you didn’t listen to the challenge but there are some golden nuggets in there nonetheless.)
If you want to listen to our final entry, a 1/2 hour episode of Totally Laime with CHARLIE DAY, click HERE!
We couldn’t have done it without you ~ THANK YOU LAIMEWADS!
