Gary says:

If y’all only play two voicemails per episode, what happens to all the other voicemails that don’t get played? Do you hear them at all?

Jason S says:

That’s why some of them say “Hey the (episode from 6 weeks ago) just came out, and I heard you say whatever, and the answer to that is whatever”. A lot of episodes they get to quite a few. They even ran out a couple times in the early days.

DT says:

I’ve been meaning to try kefir forever. Thanks for finally pushing me to do so.

I wish you’d been able to find enough brands of original. I feel like you need to seek that out.

That said, I was inspired enough to pick up a bottle and try it for myself.

I love it!

And, it seems like most of the sugar in the ones you tried is added with the blueberry flavouring.

The ingredients in the ‘traditional’ variety I tried are just: skim milk, skim milk powder, cream, bacterial culture and probiotics.

It has 8 grams of sugar, 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat.

The brand name is Klife. I’m guessing the K stands for kefir!

So, I guess I’m living that Kefir Life now!

Em says:

Andy, are you thinking of flip cup as the really fast drinking game? I guess it is gross because the lip keeps touching the table and everyone’s backwash spills onto the table…

Jason S says:

I got a Kefir a while back at a new “healthy” market (Fresh Thyme) that opened in town. I got Lifeway Strawberry, and I really enjoyed it. I imagine it was sweetened, and now I want more (thanks to your show, as always), and I’ll have to look for unsweetened, as I’ve completely cut added sugar out of my diet because I’m FAT. Having only had the Lifeway, based on your descriptions when drinking them, I was pretty doubtful it was 1 or 2, then when you described #3 I knew that was it. Also a little hint, I used it as a base for my smoothies also, and it was great.
The voicemail about JoJo’s wife was great, although it had to be expected given the history of the flow.
Go Kefir yourselves.

Eddie says:

Love that Coco seems to be a real fan of the show (as opposed to that nay-sayer Elizabeth). Have her back after the baby arrives for her new bev profile.

Becca says:

Regarding the caller-inner that doesn’t like to drink but wants to play beer pong - when I was in college everyone wised up to how disgusting the ping pong ball got and therefore, your beer, so we always play with water in the cups on the table. Then, you can hold on to whatever you feel like drinking and take a large gulp when one of your opponent gets a ball in your cup. I don’t see why the caller couldn’t play this way and then drink whatever she’s comfortable with while playing? I agree that drinkers should have first dibs on the table, but sometimes you’re DD, or just responsible, and should get a turn to play as well.

When my husband was in college he worked as one of the students that would call alumni asking for money. They would get pizza and free stuff pretty regularly, and one time they had a field day thing, and one of the events was root beer pong. Why a bunch of college kids would find this fun, I don’t know, but I guess they had to improvise or something

Jenny says:

I was going to say this exact thing - we always put water in our cups - the ping pong ball gets so disgusting, especially when it gets like stuck behind the ancient radiator or something…bleh. So yeah, just hold your drink of choice and then drink when someone gets a cup. ALSO this cuts back on spilled beer when cups get knocked over!

Jason S says:

I have never played any form of anything pong, as I went to a dry college. I was however the 2nd-best ping pong player on campus. There were less than 10 people who played. Sad face.

V says:

I was occasionally that caller-iner in college I played beer pong but didn’t always drink usually when I was the designated driver. Whoever played with me drank my part. I would usually only play a game or two toward the beginning of the night so it wasn’t a huge deal and nobody there cared.

Once when I was a pre-teen my sister, a friend of hers and I played quarters with water. We had all been sunburned on the beach that day and it seemed like a fun way to get hydrated to help with the sunburn.

I am not a teetotaller even though those stories make it seem like it.

V says:

I bought packs of freeze-dried kefir starter. You take milk of your choice bring to a boil, cool down add starter leave for a day and then refrigerate. I use it in smoothies and it has a moderate to a bit above moderate sour yogurty flavor. I have not had the sweetened or flavored kinds but I like the tangy-ness it brings to my smoothies. I have not consumed it as a solo drink though.

Rich in Las Vegas says:

It’s not quite West Coast, but Gilcrease Orchard in North Las Vegas makes their own apple cider and cider donuts. I’m not a connoisseur, but they taste legit to me.

After going back and listening to every episode I remember that it’s Morgan Walsh that knows an insider for TJ’s. I don’t think he was a buyer though.. something in regards to packaging
