Sam says:

Oh no. That AMC place is totally modeled after Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. I know it’s hot here but you and Andy must try it. They show old and new movies (we saw ET there this weekend) and my husband adores the Chicken fingers there. It’s not gourmet but it’s pretty great casual restaurant food. Elizabeth, so many vegetarian options there. Come to Austin, Rosens!

Kelsey says:

There is an Alamo Drafthouse coming to Los Angeles! Eventually. No word on a open date but it looks like they did a trial event in early August. As an Austinite who recently relocated to Los Angeles, I am deeply invested in its progress.

fruitypants says:

Love Alamo Drafthouse, but the volume on the movies (at least at the village location) is borderline painful!

Em says:

I think you guys were a bit off on the woman with the diabetic husband. While counseling is almost always a good idea, it is far more urgent that the husband see a physician an dietician STAT. Mood swings are a very common sign of rapid blood sugar changes. It may not be a coincidence that he quit his job and then was diagnosed as pre diabetic - perhaps the blood sugar swings caused him to make that sudden decision. Get him to the doc now for a full work up!

Kelsey says:

The waitress story reminded me of a bit of family lore. My grandmother was once served a cabbage roll with a frozen center. When she pointed this out to the waitress, the waitress’s response was a simple “And you wanted that roll so much” before walking away. Grandma gave up on having dinner after that.

Diane says:

I just want to say how much I love love LOVE Lemon Eyes. I’ve been listening to it over and over and thinking about how great it is so I thought maybe I should share.

Sarah says:

Same here! I just heard Lemon Eyes for the first time on the radio today and it’s awesome!

Maureen says:

I was totally skeptical that people were actually naming their child Saffron, but then yesterday afternoon I saw this on Buzzfeed:

Hipster baby names! :3

V says:

The daughter in the show “Absolutely Fabulous” was named Saffron and they always called her Saffie or some such nickname. That is the only thing I could think about during the discussion.

David says:

I went with a female therapist, basically because I have a much easier time talking about emotional stuff with friends and relatives who are women. So I’d suggest Andy just look at who he’s been most comfortable opening up to in the other areas of his life.

Also, I agree with Elizabeth on the one writer-inner and her mother-in-law. My parents got divorced right as I was graduating from college, and my mom asked me to accelerate my plans to move out. Totally understandable, she just wanted to be alone while she dealt with all the grief and anger and stuff. Any difficulty with suddenly sorting out new living arrangements was nothing compared to what was going on in her life.
